Participate in CSU Extension Citizen Science Projects!
Citizen science projects are activities sponsored by a wide variety of organizations so non-scientists can meaningfully contribute to scientific research. Citizen science enables participants to make a direct contribution to research, increase their scientific understanding, and immerse themselves deeply afield in learning about environmental issues.

Volunteers and visitors to the Julesburg Welcome Center can help with identification of butterflies and moths that frequent the Center’s garden.
There are two ways to do this, through the online form or from a printable form which can be turned in at the Welcome Center.

The Juleburg Library Pollinator Garden was planted in 2018 and seeks to encourage residents to garden sustainably.
We would like to know what pollinators are frequenting the garden and are asking for volunteers to help us by documenting the pollinators they observe.
Volunteers need to submit a form each time they visit the garden. Forms may be submitted online or printed out and turned in at the library during operating hours. In addition, paper copies of the form can be obtained at the library.
